Bad News

Hey guys.
As some of you noticed, the MEGA links are kill
The reason being, MEGA decided it would be a good idea to just wipe out everything I had uploaded. Yeah.

I have no clue as to why this happened though.

No worries though, as I still have everything saved on my PC.
The problem is, re-uploading everything will take some a fuckton of time.
I'm really sorry for all of this and hope you'll bear with me.

Obviously as soon as I'm done I'll be posting the new working links for everything, but I must have you know it will take a while before everything will be up and running again.

IF you ever feel like giving a hand, here's what you can do:

If you think you have all the icons in the pack (should be 3898 for Anime, and 938 for Manga) and a good upload speed, won't you please put them all in a single zip file and upload them to the MEGA folder for the project?
Precisely:

1. Download the ultimate pack already present [Glow or Glowless] + all the extensions (the same goes for the manga pack) if you haven't already
2. Put all the icons in a single folder (name it "SAFIP Ultimate [Glow (or Glowless)]" or "SMFIP  [Glow (or Glowless)]") and zip it
3. Log in to MEGA with these credentials
  • username: squarefoldericons@gmail.com
  • password: squarefoldericons2015 the new password is squarefoldericons4ever
4. Finally, go to either the Square Anime Icons or the Square Manga Icons folder's glow or glowless (depending on which pack you want to upload) subfolder and upload the zip file there
If you do, I'd be extremely grateful. Of course, I'm really sorry I have to ask you to do this, but unfortunately I can't find another solution. I hope you'll understand.
Since the Ultimate packs are the biggest files (and the most useful) to upload, you'd be really taking a big load off my back (and my modem).

Again, I'm really really sorry.

  1. Is that squarefoldericons gmail actually yours and do you read it? Not trying to sound super suspicious or anything I'm just wondering because I sent an email to you concerning a server for you to host the icon files on and I don't know if you'll actually get it or if I should just discuss it here.

    1. That's not my main account but I do check it once in a while.
In fact I just did, but I didn't see your mail. Care to tell me here your suggestion?

    2. Since you were having issues with mega being mega, I was wondering if you'd like to have some space on a server to host all your icon files. I can download what's already on mega directly to the server so you won't have to re-upload it or anything. It would be more reliable than mega and it can be set to serve the files in any number of ways such as http, ftp, xdcc, or even Sync which tends to be handy for stuff like this that is updated frequently. It can even be used to upload to mega/mostly every other file host in addition to any of the above, although that might be a bit overkill.

The server in question is used mainly as an archive xdcc bot for an anime encoding group, but you won't have to mention us or anything like that. It's got gobs of space and bandwidth and is pretty under-used so serving these packs won't be a big deal.

    3. Wow. I can't tell you how happy I am that you would go that far to help. Thanks, really.
Actually, I'm just about done with re-uploading everything to MEGA, so there's no urgency anymore.

But, I'll be taking you up on that offer, especially as a backup solution in case something like this happens again.
I do have a couple of questions, though: how would it work? Like, how would the upload actually happen? Would I need to manually upload the files every time, or would they be uploaded automatically as I add them to a certain folder, like I've ben doing with MEGA?

If you can, e-mail me again (hopefully this time I'll actually get the message) so we can talk in detail about this.
In any case, thanks a lot anon. Really.

    4. Alright I sent you an email with more details. Through gmail instead of thunderbird this time, so hopefully it goes through.

  3. I can do the glowless anime, though I have 3911, and I'm not quite sure how I always have more than you.

Assuming the above deal isn't taken, otherwise I'll hold off.

    1. Thanks as always. For now there's no need as some other kind anons already uploaded the Glowless pack (more than one version, actually) to MEGA.

I'll be counting on your support (if you feel like it) in the future though. Thanks again.
